I'm stunned ... I think at the moment, the only "good" thing I can say about all this is that Willow seems to have a new lease of life and the puppy is still alive too.

The courts hand out sentences that are far too lenient ... and a "5 year ban"????? what sort of punishment is that? (a) he should never be allowed to keep animals again, and (b) he nearly starved that dog to death - a £200 fine doesn't go anywhere near addressing what he did.

And as for the baby puppy ... I don't know where to start. Poor little dog; I hope those who did it are found and punished severely, and the pup gets a kind loving home (and how he didn't die after being thrown all that way, I hope he doesn't have any injuries that weren't immediately detected).

If people don't want their animals, or can't care for them, why don't they just contact the relevant authorities or rescue? No need to be cruel to them.

Exactly my thoughts , they should contact the relevant rescues. What a terrible world we live in when someone can neglect and throw away these poor living creatures like rubbish :( They never seem to get what's coming to them in the way of punishment  I think there is so much cruelty to animals due to the fact that the sentences are basically non existant, in reality who is actually going to check that the owner of Willow is not going to get another animal for the next five years? I just hope they both get new loving homes. I think by highlighting the problem of cases in the local news, though it is extremely distressing to hear it does make people aware and it is more likely to help in finding them find new loving extra special homes, also it may make people want to go to rescue centres and give all those lovely animals a better chance in life.
