We have been advised of an emergency situation where an owner of five female entire whippets has sadly been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has literally been given approximately two weeks to live.

They are able to be fostered, all together, but this is obviously a short term arrangement as all of these whippets need a secure future.

We are therefore looking for permanent loving homes for these 5 bitches, who range in age from 2 years to 12 years, we think that the other 3 are approximately 6, 8 and 10 years old.

They are currently in South Yorkshire.

They are all being photographed and details recorded this afternoon, so either Dawn or myself will update this post with pictures and further information for each whippet.

They are all pedigree and change of ownership will not be a problem, so they will therefore be KC registered whippets.

Please can anyone who may be able to offer a home to any of these dogs pm Dawn in the first instance.

Again, this is a very sad emergency, so if you know anyone who may be looking for a whippet bitch, please bear these girls in mind.

Thank you

TCx

oh thats so sad, im sorry im not able to help, but i really hope thye find homes soon :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

think it might be an idea to get these bitches spayed so noone can entertain breeding from them?

That is so sad :( really hope they find homes soon, must be such a heartbreaking for there owner. My boy found came to me in exactly the same circumstance.

Have they thought about contacting whippet rescue? there is always such a long waiting list of suitable, vetted homes.

Yes...I agree with above because there seems to have been a few people looking for Whippets, go to rescue, but there aren`t any there.

I got my Bluebell through JRWhippet Rescue so it may be a good idea...also the spaying will help a great deal too ...Good luck homing them, they sound lovely.

I think rescue is through Mandy Moncrief. I have her telephone number if wanted.

Oh this is sad sorry I cannot help but :luck: :luck: :luck: in finding them homes

This is so sad, I dearly hope they'll find good homes :D I don't think probably the urgency right now is getting them speyed but finding them perfect homes

Yes Jo, I'd agree. We need to find these ladies homes in the first instance. It must be a very unsettling time for them all and we just want to esure that they all get the loving home they deserve.

Please can I ask that anyone expressing an interest, or who knows of someone interested, that they pm Dawn as I have now got loads of pms and need to forward them to her, as I have not had any acccess to the internet until this morning, sorry.

Here are some pictures, we were slightly out on the original ages so the ladies are 12, 10, 9 and 7

All four together

Oh Bless them all and there poor owner - how tragic.

What a shame for them to be split at their age hope someone can take two and another the other two....if not all four.

Wish I could help but have a tiny house with three already - but there by the grace of God go I - it could really be any of us. :(
