2 year old husky with agression what should I do

Hi There Guys
I am new to this website and i am in need of your advice. I Have a two year old male husky from a rescue centre i dont know too much about his past but i do know that he was attacked at a young age by a staffy. Anyway he is absolutely fine with everyone in my house but when i walk him he trys to have ago at other dogs and due to being a husky he gets lots of attention anyway a man tried to say hello he let him sniff him first and everything but my husky just started growling and lunging up at him. I really have no clue what to do i have had big dogs before but not with agression. Do you think he's to old to be socialised? If Not can you give tell me how to let him have a better relationship with other dogs and people? Should he be muzzled?
Any advice would be great

Your dog is beautiful and clearly very nervous and scared.

Growling is the first sign that they are not comfortable with the situation, the second is showing teeth and/or barking and the third is a bite. You do not want to get the bite!

It is never too late to socialize a dog, so get him into obedience classes straight away. In order to keep you more relaxed when walking him, muzzle him for now. The more tension you hold in yourself when walking him the more nervous your dog will become. Try and keep his lead loose and not tight and wrapped round your wrist and choking him, you will only make him more tense and more likely to lunge at people.

You can also hire someone to work with him one on one, but personally (and speaking from experience on having a rescue dog) slow and steady wins the race. All he needs to know from you is the world is not a scary but a fun place to be and he will always be safe.

You get him to obedience classes and with the right trainer and slowly over time you will start to see a whole new dog.
