My friends 14 year old whippet X sneaked out of the house last Thursday evening and hasn't been seen since.

Holly is 17" to the shoulder, has a slightly "thicker" whippet body, shorter neck and heavier tail and thicker coat. She is red fawn with 4 white socks, white chest and is greying round muzzle. She has old scars on her back. Holly is neutered and micro chipped and was wearing a black leather collar and tag with 2 mobile numbers. (Normal collar not whippet type.)

Holly is a rescue and is a nervous little girl, my friend is distraught, the weather has been awful and there has been thunder which terrifies Holly. She is walked on the sand dunes daily, but there have been no sightings of her. Lost dogs UK, dog wardens and stray kennels have been informed for a wide area. Local radio and newspapers will also be covering her story.

I am waiting for a pic to add to this.

I know this is looking increasingly hopeless, but anyone anywhere near, please look out for Holly.

Thanks, Jools

:luck: praying she is home safe soon :luck:

the owners must be in a terrible state :(

fingers crossed they find her soon :huggles:

How awful, the owner must be desperate. :( Everything crossed this little girl makes it home safely - perhaps someone might have taken her in? :luck:

Have the owners contacted DogLost (doglost.co.uk)? They have volunteers who will put up posters etc locally and they will also help with getting local press/radio involved (though it sounds as though your friend has this organised).

:luck: Fingers crossed and everything else :huggles: for a safe return. :luck:

Holly has been sighted heading for Ainsdale - if anyone is anywhere near please keep a look out. Holly is petrified of fireworks and it is quite possible that she has been frightened out of hiding. There have been a few sightings, so there is still some hope. Holly belongs to Sandra who runs J R Whippet Rescue in the North West, she has done so much for whippets in need over many years, can anyone on k9 who lives near help by keeping their eyes and ears open please.

I live to far away but I hope she is found soon.

My whippet is terrified of fireworks - they should be banned!

This will at least take it to the tip of the board again.
