I tried crating my dog in the beginning, which only seemed to make him more frantic (though he is happy in his crate at home). But perhaps I should give it a try again, it has been at least 7 months since I tried! I hadn't really thought about limiting how much they can see where they are going.

Advertising is definitely not bad, I've never actually heard that said about breeders before! How else would you get in front of the great homes that are seeking specific breeds of dogs?
I've also wondered on this topic, and I always conclude I will just save my money and pay out of pocket. But one of my dogs is currently at the vet and I'm going to pick him up soon to discuss some xrays, hoping that it isn't anything serious and that I don't regret not getting insurance!
It does sound like she's worried about who will take her treat, how sweet! I hope she grows out of her worry and learns that she can relax and enjoy her treats :)
An impossible decision, but being into rescuing animals, if I see one I love suffering and struggling to live a normal life, I will honor their life by giving them the best last day ever, and after awhile rescuing a new love to save another life.
