    Bad encounter at the park

Thank you. I suffer from anxiety and getting the dog helps me go out and interact with people. This experience really set me back. Thank you for your kind words though

    Bad encounter at the park

Thank you. He was shouting saying the dog had no road sense and panicking saying get my dog under control but I called my dog straight back and put her back on the lead before he had even started to go look for his dog. His dog obviously had no recall and no road sense so in my opinion he was...

    Bad encounter at the park

I took my dog over the local field where we often go. It has a small foot path that goes straight into a main road. My dog has good recall so I don't worry about the road. This morning there was a man walking a dog. I always keep mine on the lead until I see who is over there of there is a dog...

    On lead aggression

Sounds like she's a grumpy old bitch then. My sisters dog is the same age and she will tolerate him until he gets too hyper then she will tell him off

    On lead aggression

Thanks for the reply it does seem to be more jumpy dogs she doesn't like. If they are calm and quiet she is ok. She is fine with all dogs off lead so probably doesn't like the fact she can't get away if the other dog gets too excited. I never tell her off for it because the other dog must make...

New here : lying down command

Not everyone gets on with it but I find the clicker works wonders with my toy poodle cross shih tzu. She can pick up a new command or trick in minutes but timing is essential. I put the treat (usually cheese) to her nose in the sit position lower it to the floor in a closed hand then gradually...

    Jekyll & hyde!

I have the same problem with my shih tzu cross toy poodle. Great off her lead but snappy with other dogs on her lead. She seems ok with calm dogs but bouncy ones she won't tolerate at all. Extremely friendly with people though

    On lead aggression

I have a 14 month old shih poo called Suki. She is super smart learns new tricks in minutes, is great in the house very obedient and extremely loving and cuddly. However she doesn't like a lot of dogs. I have a 9 year old lab which she is fine with. She is fine off her lead with other dogs. On...
