How old is he, and how often do you usually take him for a walk?
It sounds like he's just over-excited; do you find after a while that he returns to 'normal' or is he like it the whole time you're out?
What does it mean when your whippie puts their ears flat back against the head (so it almost looks like they don't have any ears!?).
I though originally it was when they were apprehensive or worried, but I think that's just the resulting expression on their face :clown:

No - I always get him back - he's sitting in his chair with a biscuit as I type ;)

My young whippet lad Billy, well - coming on for 2 years old now (how time flies) is developing a bad habit for venturing further and further afield on walks.
From a pup, he would stick close by, and most times...
As I understand it, Kennel cough is a more persistent affliction.
The backward sneezing (and forward sneezes at times!) happened maybe 2 or 3 times in the course of an evening, with the odd sniffle thrown in - but for the 2 or so days where it was at it's worst, he'd wake himself up with it...
Yup - Billy has just been through a patch of the backward sneezes.
He seems to have just about got through it now - it lasted about a week, and was quite alarming at it's peak - about 2-3 days.
In fact I don't recall him doing it at all last night, so fingers crossed.
Aaahhhh - other dog-walkers have mentioned there had been a lot of it about -
I must confess to not having any experience with it; I presume a trip to the vet is in order then? :(
Curious as to why Billy seems to have succumbed to sneezing fits recently, and last night was punctuated with instances where it sounded like he was sneezing backwards :blink:
