I've been trawling the internet on safely using a long line, all I'm finding is slip lead longline and those attached to collars.
Does anyone know of any videos, articles or tips.
We are going on a seaside holiday next week so whisp will be on a longline on the beaches.
I am running back to dogforum with my tail between my legs as I have been well ant truly grilled on petforum for feeding Whisp a (mostly) vegan diet.
Didn't know people could get so defensive over the matter .
Very embarrassing and upsetting.
A nice calm walk with Whisper, then a little dog comes out of the bushes and won't leave her alone. At least 2 minutes of evading said dog until it's owner appears with HEADPHONES ON. He had no idea where his dog was or what he was doing for 2 minutes. When he finally arrived I said "can you...
Has anyone got any ideas for keeping next doors cats from using our veg patches as a giant litter tray.
Whisper is obsessed with getting out there and eating the cat poo
Disgusting
I picked up our 6 new hens this morning from hen welfare trust.
They are barn raised so have never been outside, where very bewildered at the wind and the sun.
Can't wait to see them in full feather!
I am looking into getting a perfect fit harness as Whisper slipped out of hers yesterday, when an over enthusiastic Cocker wouldn't leave her alone .
Has anyone used one for their doggies and if so are they worth the hefty price?
On a walk yesterday Whisper got quite close to another dog (that she has met before) face to face. I thought we'd got too close as she froze and stared, so I was expecting a fit of barking and lunging.
But we got a delightful suprise when she did a lovely play bow, the other dog bowed back and...
Despite having quiet woods walks over the weekend, she is in one of her crazy moods, she has jumped around the garden hunting invisible creatures, pulled like a shire horse on the beginning of her morning walk and hasn't settled down as she usually does after a walk. She looks like she's had 3...
My first pet was Sweety the hamster.
One night I put a tooth under my pillow and went to sleep.
When I woke up I looked under my pillow for the 50p that I was owed by the tooth fairy...., nothing.
My Dad said "maybe she got stuck in Sweetie's cage"
I went to look for her in the cage and found...
Are squeeky toys good or bad for dogs?
I've heard it can be too stimulating and may strengthen their predatory drive.
But also that they can be good enrichment and can make human implements less interesting to chew and destroy.
What do you think ?
Afew dogs in Whisper's dog walking group are given cat kibble as treats, one owner tried her with some and she seemed to absolutely love it.
Is there anything wrong with this as long as it's just used a training treat?
So I own a reactive lurcher, I keep her on a bright yellow lead at all times to let other dog owners know she is nervous of other dogs.
I take her to a park twice a week where people let thier dogs off lead, most owners are great and call their dogs when they see she's on a lead. But I have had...
Hello from Beth (human) and Whisper (dawg)!
Whisper is a 3ish year old lurcher, she is a rescue from Ireland.
She's a "reactive rover" so can be a bit of a handful on walkies but she loves her humans and her humans love her.
