Looking on line this morning, I read an article that stated that a dog should be fed before exercise as a twisted gut can be the result of feeding first. We feed and don't go for walks until two hours minimum have passed. Are we right or wrong or is the two hour period ok? I eagerly look forward...

We do feed her twice a day.

We have had Brooke (Lab cross) since February this year. She is a rescue dog. We generally feed her at the same time in the evening's. I usually walk her about an hour and an hour after her evening feed. The last two nights she hasn't poo'd. I worry that she should not go all night without her...

I will find a link but the groomer is well respected in our area and as I said, her teeth are much cleaner. Just for information, she has eight rescue dogs! One keeps us occupied.

Joanne. Sorry for not replying earlier. I have noted your very helpful advice. We took Brooke to a groomer who recommended Hansepet cookies. After two weeks (one cookie per day), her teeth look good. This product plus tooth brushing should keep her healthy. Thanks for your helpful advice.

What is the best position for brushing a dogs teeth? Is a dog distressed the first few times of brushing?

Good to meet you also Hatti. Brooke is not too hard to please. We have not tried tripe yet as kibble is her main diet but I keep an open mind on variations to stop any boredom setting in. Do you or anyone reading this think that kibble is sufficient or should the dogs diet be varied?

You may well be right about Perranporth. I will do some homework on it.

There is certainly no shortage of space on Perranporth beach. It is easy to get cut off by the tide if you are careless. Wish it was open to dogs all year though.

Yes only dog friendly after October. We have discovered the beach at Long Rock near Marazion. Open to dogs all year and plentiful car parking. It does not have the charm of some of the other beaches but the dogs love it.

We took her to Kynance Cove this morning. There were lots of shallow pools left behind by the ebb tide. She wasted no time in using them. We must visit Crantock some time.

We are living in West Cornwall nearer to the South coast beaches but Newquay is not out of reach. Fistral beach(Newquay) is dog friendly all year round much to my surprise as if I were not a dog lover, I might object to dogs in the Summer season. By the way - we also like the Roseland.

Thank you. Cornwall is nice with a good selection of dog friendly beaches. Beach is one our dogs trigger words! Only used when we know that we can keep our promise as she has a good memory and holds us to it.
