When Gemma was a puppy she chewed the tassles off the rug, tassles off the curtains, and tassles off the cushions, she had bits of thread in her teeth which we kept removing!

Gemma used to chuck her toys around, she had sausages on a rope and would swing them around then chuck them, it got a bit dangerous so i had to get rid of it. She also liked to nick my fluffy slipper, found it many times all soggy and wet in her bed! :rolleyes:

Gemma did the same, i would give her a dental chew and she would walk around whining and trying different places to sit and chew, she mainly ended up sat by the kitchen door with it.

Ahhh that's sweet. Gemma used to hide her toys and retrieve them when we were in the living room, i was forever seeing them stashed behind cushions or furniture :D

I've heard this before, plus a colleague once told me dogs will look at their owner while doing number 2 because they feel vulnerable and want their owner to protect them if they are attacked.

Thank you all:). I'm thinking of a rescue dog from a shelter, i'll give it a month or so then i'll start looking.

Gemma would whine and cry for her treats whenever she saw them in the kitchen, so i started hiding them but she knew we had them in and would still whine and cry for them, i mentioned it to the vet on one of her check ups and was told to try her with carrots instead of treats, so i bought extra...

My dog Gemma was 3 months old when we got her, i was a teenager and my dad brought her home, she was thin and full of fleas, she had been living on doggy chews despite having tiny teeth, i remember the first day we got her we washed her in flea shampoo, then dried her, she was shivering and...

I learnt to drive in a Ford Fiesta, my driving instructor had hair that stuck up, reminding me of one of those birds with sticky up fur on their heads:D i couldn't look at him without trying not to laugh, it wasn't styled like that as it looked as if nothing would stick it down.

These posts made me giggle:). It was the same with Gemma... One rule was no sleeping in my bedroom, so after moving her bed into my bedroom :) she slept there every night!

Thank you all:). Yes it's the hardest part for us humans, she went very quickly at home which is a blessing as she didn't suffer and i was with her. I got her when she was 3 months old, she had been neglected and was full of fleas but i took her in and what a great dog she turned into. I'll post...

Thank you both so much. I gave her the best life i could so although i'm extremely upset i am proud of myself for giving her the best.

I fed my Gemma on Wagg dry dog food, i always added fresh carrots to it, which she loved, she would also have roast chicken. She lived to be 14 so i was doing something right:)

I'm Saffy. My little friend Gemma died last week, she was a 14 year old Labrador, i'll be getting a new fur baby when the time feels right, until then i thought i'd join a dogs forum and get some ideas before i take the plunge.
