    Bit of a Rant

Good i am very pleased that they got their dog problem solved.I would never criticise anyone seeking help should they need it. What I would never do is subject them to a foot long rant as to why that should have done it my way.

    Dog Whistle Training

As long as you are happy and your dog is happy there is nothing wrong. We all have to find what works for us, for instance my Buster would ride a unicycle blindfolded for food yet my cousins dog is a sparse little eater but will do anything for a cuddly toy. Neither is right or wrong.

Anyone else’s dog bark at this?

Aren't dogs just a delight every day, we really don't deserve them. My last dog Sam would be glued to the screen when One Man and His Dog was one. He may have had some Border Collie genes. I think it was to do with the movement as he would stare intently when they were rounding up the sheep.

    Dog Whistle Training

I soooo agree let's all rise up and find our voices if something works it works. Let all the (my way is the only way) ranters talk each other to death and just get on with sharing what has worked for us. We don't have to be intimidated there is an ignore option we can use and I intend to.

    Bit of a Rant

Can I just ask without bringing a storm of criticism on my head what all these trainers/behaviourists think we did with our dogs before they came on the scene. I am 70 years old and before my current dog i had owned four dogs in my lifetime from when I was a little girl. All of them came when...

    What breed is he?

Just a little line about the puppy being fed adult food. When my son was only 10 days old i left him with my mum who had 6 children , whilst I went shopping. When I arrived to pick him up i was horrified to see she was spoon feeding the broth out of a pot of stew. The moral of this story is my...

Hi Judy i think you are right he just wants to please me he is like my little shadow. On his wood walk this morning he was hurtling back to me and a Muntjac deer ran across his path his little puzzled face was a picture i don't think he'd seen one of those before.

Recall.... Well when I am going to loose you, maybe...

Well he had no recall with me he rarely even made eye contact at first. He may have had with his previous owners but he often surprises me i was told by the RSPCA that one skill that he had when he arrived with them was that he would fetch balls for hours and dropped them into a bucket at your...

Recall.... Well when I am going to loose you, maybe...

When I adopted my dog 4 months ago he had no recall at all. I live in the country and longed to let him off the lead wherever there was no livestock of course. There are no fully secure areas to test his recall so I devise devised a plan. I used to take him to a park that had tennis courts,I...

    Bonfire WEEK!

It is such a worry when your pet is distressed i had a dog for 15 years who was terrified i used to wrap him in a blanket and hold him all night .My new rescue doesn't give a tinkers cuss just shows how dogs vary. Your idea of going away is brilliant.

    Hi I am free spirit

The RSPCA recommended classes but they would not accept him as he was too disruptive. That is why I had to spend £35 per hour for a behaviourist. I would not be so presumptuous as to tell you what I thought you should do with your animals or children please extend me the same courtesy.
