    Introducing puppy to swimming

Hi everyone, would you buy a lifejacket for a labrador/springer/border collie puppy's first introduction to swimming? Thinking of taking her to the 'dog pond' at Hampstead Heath. She's been walked by canals and rivers but not been in water yet. Labs and springers are both supposed to be water crazy.

    Sofa jumping and exercise/sleeping

Thanks, Judy. I like the cushions idea (although we usually hide them because she chews them!).

    Sofa jumping and exercise/sleeping

Thanks Joanne, I'll look at the video. Florrie's zoomies often get quite destructive and bitey - they're ok when it's just her running around! My husband asked the trainer if playing tug counted as exercise and he said yes! That's what made us panic because we're playing with her much more than...

    Sofa jumping and exercise/sleeping

Hi guys. We have a couple of dilemmas with our 10 week old 'sprolliedor' puppy. In the past few days she has has grown enough to now be able to jump onto our sofa. Since we've been told she should not be jumping on anything higher than her elbow, I have been trying to have a no going no the sofa...

Help - is my puppy neurotic?

We've had our 9 week old 'sprolliedor' puppy just 6 days and I'm in love already but I'm beginning to worry she's neurotic. I've been alone in the house with her today. I've had to go upstairs to the loo a couple of times (leaving her behind the stair gate) and she's started whining and barking...

    Overexcitement when cleaning up accidents

Thanks for the advice and ideas. My husband wanted to train her to poo on the terrace (in a tray) so as not to need to when we (eventually) go out. Do you think this is feasible?

    Overexcitement when cleaning up accidents

Thanks for that advice. We are planning to get baby gates to stop her going on the stairs since I'm worried this isn't be good for her joints. It's difficult to take outside to toilet as our outside is a roof terrace and we don't want her going up and down stairs. The times we've tried taking...

    Overexcitement when cleaning up accidents

Hi everyone. Okay, first question: we are paper training Florrie, our 9 week old lab/bc/springer puppy. But each time we start cleaning up one of her accidents, she goes a bit manic, tries to steal the soiled piece of kitchen towel or j cloth and then tears around madly ('zoomies'). Anyone else...

Hello everyone. Just got a puppy (lab/bc/springer). She's nine weeks now and a bundle of joy but so lively and stir crazy because she can't go out yet. I know I'm going to be asking for a lot of advice on here!
