A corn has reappeared on Mabel’s pad and this one has a noticeable effect on her movement - the poor girl is limping on her right foot. I did manage to remove a corn about 18 months ago and I intend to do this one tomorrow. The alternative would be for her to go under a GA and, taking into...
I can only go on personal experience (anecdotal as you’re not me). Mabel has been on bought raw for just over three years. We’ve only had a single incident of concern - she refused a meal of ‘Finer by Nature’ minced turkey. Our local shop said that there was a bad batch and credited us. Mabel...
Just make sure that his fluid intake’s maintained. It’s not an easy time for the mite. When I first tried raw I used Bella and Duke’s products. To my inexperienced eye it looked like a glorified paste - Mabel’s poos became very firm at her next ‘sitting’.
I can but echo the comments from the others. As a pointy face owner (and we have only ever had rescued whippets) I find the thought of a serious injury to a human from a whippet attack difficult to take in. At the most, someone may have a fear of dogs but that’s not the dog’s fault. Perhaps I’m...
Our whippet had a similar problem to yours but minor by comparison with your detailed description. Mabel was already on raw but she used to bolt her food, taking in quite a bit of air with each mouthful. I bought a divider bowl insert which seems to have reduced the frequency of her antisocial...
Thanks for that. We used to do the same -
½ in the morning and again in the evening. Now she’s only on
½ in the morning (16mg) and that seems to be working. It’s only from about May - mid August. If Rusty follows the same pattern and it’s an ongoing situation I’d recommend buying the...
He’s been on Apoquel almost since arrival? If I compare Rusty’s situation with Mabel’s I do see a parallel - both adopted into a new home, Mabel was really stressed out and was a very unhappy dog for quite a few days. I appreciate that, from your posts, Rusty wasn’t in the same emotional state...
So sorry to hear of your loss. It does leave a huge void - we’ve all been through it. However it goes with the territory but they’re NO LONGER in discomfort which is the most important part of the current situation. I do feel for you - it’s an absolute bugger.
Thanks for that, JoanneF. As a trial I’ll just get the smallest amount (250g) to see whether Mabel enjoys them - we have (had) loads of treats going stale in her cupboard ’cos she went off them. If successful I’ll follow your lead by the kilo. Once again, thank you.
Will have to give these a try (fish skin flatties) especially if they take time. I’ve bought stuff from a local pet shop which Mabel loves but I’m somewhat concerned at the hygiene aspect. I’ve seen that I can get Skippers products at Amazon. Are they also available in pet shops as I’d like to...
