Unable to put a lead on the dog

What do you know of his background before he came to you? Also, does he have a collar on at the moment?

Why does my dog do this?

I think JoanneF was responding to your comment that after the dog had growled at your niece, she still went closer, hence him getting more uncomfortable. Dogs can detect changing blood sugar levels and can alert someone with diabetes when they are too low. Assuming your nephew, niece and friend...

    Unsecure connection

Yes, the certificate had expired, but my laptop and phone tell me it's now secure. It might be that clearing your cookies will fix it (just a guess), or that the 'fix' has to migrate through the DNS (another guess!).

    Happy Christmas Everyone

Aw, thank you Josie! A very merry Christmas to you and yours, too. Plus all our members - it is you who make the forum what it is. I'd also like to say happy Christmas to any 'lurkers' - it doesn't matter whether you have ever posted or not, if the information on the forum has helped you in...

    Hello everyone!

Done :-) Unfortunately I won't be able to do the survey as I don't currently have a dog (or any of the other animals on the list), but good luck with your research.

    Hello everyone!

Welcome to the forum :-) You won't be able to post links till you have a certain number of posts, but if you type the url with a space in, so the forum software doesn't reject it, I can check out the link and then make it live for you.

    Black Labrador claws

Some people can be a little evangelical about claw clipping. I'd say do it little and often, but not worry if they still click. The last thing you want is to go too far and hurt her, as then she might not let you near them again.

    Asking for feedback

Welcome, and don't worry - there's nothing in your post to warrant a ban, but thank you for making sure that was the case! It is, after all, important that you get plenty of feedback before going live. In all honesty I won't have the time to look at your app in the detail it deserves for...

    Changing Feeding for Blue

According to the Nature's Menu website, there are 55-60 nuggets per 1kg bag. Do keep asking questions - that's what the forum's for!

    Dog and teen son

I'm wondering if he had anxiety issues in his former home, whether it started when he moved in with you, or was purely initiated by moving the crate. It's interesting that he also struggles when your husband leaves the house. Has he reacted like this before? It might be best for you to get a...

    Dog and teen son

I'm wondering if the crate being in the centre of the area isn't great, as he can feel exposed from all sides. The difficulty is, of course, that moving it might unsettle him more. It might be better in a position where people have to walk straight past it to get to the kitchen, rather than...

Finding the right amount of food for a wet/raw diet

It would be worth asking what is in it, and in what proportion. It's possible they add in all the stuff they can't sell, including bone and offal - you won't be able to balance her meals properly if you don't know.

Finding the right amount of food for a wet/raw diet

Chances are it's not balanced at all - where did you buy it from, what brand is it? My understanding is that it's not that easy to feed a balanced home-cooked diet - or at least to find reliable guidance online.

    It's yer choice Susan Garrett

It's a long time since I did it, so I'm having to dig into the dark recesses of my brain... I didn't use IYC to teach leave as such, but to improve self-control, which is never a bad thing and will help with training and behaviour more generally. So if in a situation like seeing a cat, it...

    It's yer choice Susan Garrett

'It's yer choice' worked really well for my dog, though I'm not sure it translated into a real-life situation. Even if I accidentally dropped a treat in 'It's yer choice' he'd be on it like a shot, knowing it wasn't a part of the plan! In what way do you think it might confuse your dog? I dare...
