    Which Size Crate????

36" is about right for a dog... they look tiny in it when they are curled up, but if they want to lay flat on their side then they'll need the extra room. It's all those legs! We have a 36" for Django and a 30" for Neela. Since your pup will be quite small to begin with there will be a lot of...

    Saluki In Wiltshire

We're in Swindon in Wiltshire and will also hopefully be going to the show at Bowood house... it's on the 8th and 9th of August. We're members of the Hants and Berks Ferret Club who are going to be doing some ferret racing at the show, so if you go make sure to swing by our tent and say hi :)

    Return Of The Russian

Django trying to feel taller. Please excuse the rusty BBQ that clearly should never have been outside all winter! Hard to believe that Neela and Olga are the same age! How did that sock get out here?

    Return Of The Russian

It was late December when our two last saw Olga, so they got a bit of a shock when they saw how big she'd grown! Something like 30" to the shoulder already and only 8 months old! She's such a lovely dog, very smiley and friendly. I don't think Django quite knew whether he was supposed to play...

    Whippet Puppy Coats ??

Congrats on the two new arrivals! I've had a lovely puppy coat from Citycroft, they are reasonably priced too.

    Burying Stuff (mainly Food)

Our two eat separately in their crates and sometimes Neela doesn't finish her whole meal because she's too busy! So she burys her entire bowl underneath her bedding by nudging the duvet with her nose until it covers the bowl.

    'barging" When Freerunning

That's awful! They must have collided at such a speed. I think themetalchicken's advice of not letting them off the lead in an open area until they've already warmed up and done some pavement walking is good. That way their muscles are warm and they are nice and limber, so hopefully it's less...

    'barging" When Freerunning

It's when they do it to other dogs that it's really embarrassing. Django ran at and shoulder-barged an on-lead staffie-cross when we had all the snow. Lucky for him the poor staffie was just too shocked to move! And the human on the end of the lead was a 15 year old hoodie who was also too...

    Crufts 2009 Slated.

 Just noticed that in my original post I made a really dumb typo... I put 'writted' when I meant 'written'! Worrying!!!

    Fred's Got His Second Wind...

Awww bless them, they look like they're having so much fun. Hope fuzzy little Stan's paw gets better soon! He's such a cutie. It's never nice to have them go under the knife. :luck:

    Bald Patches

They have such fine coats that it can end up 'rubbing off' at friction points. I'd only be concerned if she started losing a lot of hair in other places or shows signs of scratching etc. Neela (who is 6 months old) has the same little bald strip on her chest. It's right underneath, not visible...

    Crufts 2009 Slated.

Jemima Harrison, who made the film last summer about inbreeding, has writted an article slating Crufts 2009. Here: The Times Online Well, we were there on Thursday too right up until the venue was almost clear of people. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day, saw lots of happy, healthy dogs and...

    Fighting With The Neighbour

What a horrible woman! You must have all been living under such a cloud lately :( . Sounds like her landlord is sick of her too though! It seems to me that most people who moan excessively do so because they have nothing interesting going in their lives and nothing of any real consequence to...

No doubt she wanted to disguise that horrible shampoo smell! She looked lovely in the ring and did you proud. It was a pleasure to watch so many beautiful whippets... and see a few that I recognised from here! Watching the Manchester Terriers was wonderful as well, and we both had a couple of...
