Yes, would be interesting to know. Evie can poo before breakfast meaning she must be pooing at least 14 hours after her last feed. Will try to be more vigilant and see what her pattern is, if any.
That's such a good idea JoanneF. So simple yet wouldn't have occurred to me. In more than one puppy book that I read before our puppy came home all said that dogs will poo within 30 minutes of eating. I began to think we had a 'special' puppy with an extra long intestine because she did not...
Reading through this thread has taken me right back to when we were struggling with crate, barking, play pen &. Pads. Waking at 5 or 6 every morning and barking. We also didn't want her upstairs. She is now 11 months old, sleeps in her bed in our room. She has last wee at 10.30 and now isn't...
I must say he was always a very gentle, calm dog with absolutely no obvious male tendencies (apart from a short spell of humping the children during his teenage period!). So maybe you're right about the low testosterone JoanneF.
We had male sheltie some years ago. He wasn't neutered and nearly always weed by squatting and rarely cocked a leg. No idea why but didn't seem to bother him and he lived to a good age.
FUnnily enough I was just looking up dates for dog shows this year. We did go to Paws in the Park last year. We went to the one at Stansted Park, Hants. Evie was only just old enough to walk on the ground so really good socialising opportunity for her. We went with friends and their two...
Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. It all does sound very confusing. Funnily enough since I started this thread I'm sure that Evie is walking a bit better. This could, however, just be me trying to convince myself that it's not too bad. She's nearly 11 months and I think I'll give...
I've just watched it on iplayer and do agree with others. It was good. Everyone seemed to be having fun but there was some good advice from the experts.
Thanks everyone. I'll do some investigation. I'm feeling a bit of a failure to be honest as I really want her to walk nicely because I've trained her well and somehow seems to be a bit of a let down to resort to a halti I type lead.
Having spent many, many , many hours over last 7 months trying to get my dog to walk nicely on loose lead I am beginning to wonder if she'll ever get there before old age sera in! She is better than she was and if I pop treats every 10 seconds or so she's fine. We can now walk about 5 metres...
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Once she gets the puppy home and so long as she's only doing things in the best interests of the puppy, and taking advice from a vet then I can't see how the breeder can possibly have any complaints.
We had a very sad experience out walking our dog this morning. Heard a strange noise in the woods and then saw people at a stile and realised it was a woman wailing. Put our pup on lead and called out if all ok. The man said that their dog had just died and the poor woman was inconsolable...
To be honest I can't see how a breeder can keep a check anyway. Our breeder lives 200 miles away, has never seen our house or doesn't even know if we gave the correct address (we did, of course) but she certainly wouldn't know if we moved. I can't see how any contract as prescriptive as walks...
