Morwellham Quay is an award-winning attraction which forms part of a World Heritage site, featuring historic port, village, copper mine and railway just four miles west of Tavistock and bordering the beautiful River Tamar.

Discover this lost world with the help of our interactive living history team. If you or your group want a stimulating and entertaining day out, Morwellham is the place to visit.

Opening Times:
From 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week
We suggest that you allow two to four hours for a visit.

Copper Mine: A 40 minute train ride, 20 minutes taking in the views of the River Tamar before entering the George and Charlotte copper mine. (40 people at a time)

Interactive Activities: Join the costumes guides as they show you how life was for a Victorian at Morwellham. Become Victorian school children, help make a piece of rope, smash rocks to find copper, make your own bread roll and chocolate lolly.

BBC’s Edwardian Farm: Visit Ruth’s Cottage where the BBC filmed Edwardian Farm. Meet some of the animals featured in the series.

Also: Wander around the cottages, compare the rich to the poor, watch our blacksmith or potter at work and try on Victorian clothes.

Food: A variety of snacks, hot and cold lunches, cakes and cream teas can be found in The Ship Inn (our restaurant and tea rooms).

Dogs: We charge £1 entry for dogs, they are allowed everywhere except the Bakery and the History of Chocolate.
